Attempting to live with a spot of spontaneity, holding humor and curiosity dear, the Rocca family grows with/blends into friends and surprise connections, human and otherwise, real and fictional. Wondering about the meanings of everyday matters such as life, immigration, home/family and such. The Family uses folkloric habits, traditional magicals and barbaghandat to step away from Truth, to clear the path to indulge in confusion and real life messes. Even if constructed, assumed or/and virtual. The Family draws its powers in navigation from its feline member, who goes on secret adventures between intense and frequent sleeping and eating spells.
Secretly: the Rocca Family is the title for the top secret collaborative art-practice work of Ola El-Khaldi and Diala Khasawnih with Rocca the cat as their pussy power.
Rocca
Rocca the pussy, born in mystery possibly in Amman sometime in 2009, formed the Rocca Family with Ola Elkhaldi and Diala Khasawnih as soon as they joined forces around 2010. Presently under cover as sweet feline in the domesticity of Alma Khasawnih in Spokane, WA Rocca is pretending to search for perfect sun spots (that remains an inspiration to us all) while in reality she's on some huge secret mission.
